Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri KÜÇÜK

He is an academician, thinker and writer on the history of Islamic thought, the history of religions, the sociology of religion, the philosophy of religion, Mevlana, Ibn Arabi, the psychology of Sufism, the history of Sufism and the relationship between religion and science. 
With 27 years of academic and private work,
and through special education programs,
he continues to run and work at ONK ACADEMY, of which he is the founder.

PROFILE

He was born in 1976 in Erzurum. He graduated from the first Computer Technical High School opened in Turkey in 1993. In the same year, he was entitled to enter Atatürk University, Faculty of Theology. He completed the memorization of the Qur'an in his undergraduate period, which he started during his university education. He also completed the classical Arabic and religious sciences curriculum in the Ottoman method during his undergraduate period. He graduated from Atatürk University Faculty of Theology in 1998.

In the same year, he started his master's degree at Atatürk University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Sufism.

After working as a teacher for one and a half years in Erzurum-Horasan-Karacaören village between 1999-2001, he was entitled to enter Erciyes University Faculty of Theology as a research assistant at the Department of Sufism in 2001. In the same year, he completed his master's degree with his thesis titled “The Sufi Views of Mevlânâ Celaleddin-i Rumi on the Axis of Fîhi Mâ Fîh”. His master's thesis was later published as a book under the name "Ne Varsa Sende Var".

In 2001, he was transferred to Ankara University Social Sciences Institute as a research assistant for his doctorate education. In 2004, he conducted researches at the University of Egypt-Cairo with the scholarship of the Ministry of National Education.

Between 2001-2007, he finished his doctorate at Ankara University with his thesis titled “Transformation of Self in Mevlânâ: Süluk”. His doctoral thesis was later published as a book under the title "Spiritual Development According to Mevlana".

In 2007, he returned to Erciyes University, where he was affiliated as a doctoral lecturer. He became an assistant professor at the same university in 2009.

He became an Associate Professor in the field of Sufism at Erciyes University with his study “Fususu'l Hikem and the Perfect Human Being in Mesnevi”, which was also published as a book with the same name in 2011.

In 2013, he was a visiting professor in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina in the USA for one year to conduct researches in his field of study.

Until 2015, he was the Head of the Department of Sufism at the Faculty of Theology at Erciyes University and he was also the director of Davud el-Kayseri Center for Sufi Studies, of which he is the founder.

Küçük became a professor in 2016 and worked at Üsküdar University between 2016-2017 during the establishment of Üsküdar University Sufi Studies Institute.

Since the day Professor Küçük stepped into the Faculty of Theology from the Computer Technical High School, his dream was to solve the 'programming language' of the religious sciences, which is a sub-branch of social sciences.

With his 24 years of academic and private studies, he is an important part of the tradition of wisdom and wisdom as a method in social sciences, philosophy of science, history of religions, linguistics, religious sciences, anthropology, sociology, psychology, religion-science relationship, sufi psychology, Gazzali, Mevlana and Muhyiddin Ibn al-Arabi. He founded the ONK ACADEMY (February - 2017), which he structured with four basic education programs that he synthesized from his personalities.

According to Professor Küçük, these education programs contain syntheses of the mentioned programming language and they contain awareness and wisdom which can be easily applied to the human life regardless of belief. That's why Onk Academy's headline is reflects principle of “Knowing comes before believing”.

The aforementioned education programs structured by Professor Küçük are as follows;

  • METARTEM: Metaphysics of Art (New Program)

Küçük has published articles and books on Islamic thought, Sufi psychology, Sufism, Mevlana and Ibn Arabi.

He is the father of Mert, Kerem and Feyza.

He is still works at ONK ACADEMY.
